This year, the LandAid 10k will take place on Thursday 8 June 2017 at 4.30pm on Clapham Common. (www.landaid.org/10K-London)
Once again, the APL will be sponsoring 8 places (two teams of four) giving our members the opportunity to join the band of 1,000 runners for the property race of the year while raising money for a good cause.
This year LandAid are aiming to raise £100,000, with 1000 property professionals racing to end youth homelessness. The money raised from this year’s run will go towards two life changing projects. The first is an innovative help-to-rent project run by New Horizon that finds suitable housing for young people facing homelessness, and supports them to maintain their tenancies. The second is an impressive mentoring project in Tower Hamlets run by XLP that helps prevent young people from becoming homeless. The money raised will give young people who are on the verge of exclusion from school and at risk of criminal behaviour the support to make better life choices and achieve their goals.
LandAid is the property industry charity working to end youth homelessness in the UK. It tackles the root causes of youth homelessness, protects young people on the streets, provides accommodation and support for those who have been homeless and gives a platform to young people to have their voices heard.
